Part 3: How to set BIOS to boot from CD/USB Drive
Step 1Please go into BIOS setup utility by restarting the computer and then hit the specific BIOS function key on the keyboard as soon as the screen comes up. Different computer manufacturers have different function keys. Hereby we list the most common BIOS function keys. • Delete

Below is a screenshot of a system starting up with a Phoenix-Award BIOS. Note the message at the top of the display. System Setup Utility by clicking the F2 key when this message appears.
Step 2
Enter boot device configuration menu. Once you enter the System Setup Utility you will get the boot device configuration
main menu. Below is a screenshot of the main menu for a version of
Phoenix-Award BIOS. Yours may not look exactly the same, but the basic
idea is the same for all System Setup Utility. In this System Setup Utility, you can see the boot device configuration menu. Yours may be in a different category. If your System Setup Utility does not have an Advanced BIOS Features category, try looking through the different categories until you find the boot device order.
Step 3
Below is a screenshot of the Boot Device Configuration
category. As you can see from the screenshot, the first boot device is
set to the CD/USB Drive. If the first boot device on your system is set
to another device (hard drive for example), simply change it to CD/USB
Drive. In the screenshot above you can also see some basic instructions
on how to change settings. Once the USB Drive is set as the first boot
device you have to save the changes and exit the System Setup Utility. To do that, hit ESC to go back to the main menu, and hit ESC again and select Save and Exit item.
Note: If your computer model does not support booting from USB Drive, you will not be able to see the “USB” option on this screen.
Note: There are theoretically hundreds of versions of System Setup Utility
and this is just one example. However, the basic idea is the same for
all of them. If your Setup does not look the same, you may have to find
it in other category and change the boot device order.
